Hey guys it’s Sincere. Just two days ago YMOV had it’s second performance at I. Young Men of Vision started out the show performing our #1 nationally ranked show, Straight Outta Compton. Gentlemen of Vision, the high school team, also performed their show, New Jack City. This was a college step show, so we had to bring our all to show off our skills. As a captain, I was in charge of making sure we were all doing our part. We totally killed it though, so it's all good. I am looking forward to the start of the step season in early 2017. I’ll inform yall about the shows if you want to see YMOV in action.

Name: Gore Weapon: Every weapon imaginable Power: Can summon any weapon Story: This Summoner was born in a clan where it was normal to be able to summon one type of weapon: sword or gun. Gore can summon both. So what does his clan do? His clan attempted to assassinate him, but failed because he had mastered sword and gun techniques. Eventually he found out that he wasn't welcome, so he left to find a new clan. He soon after ran into Leo, another outcast with impressive powers. They got of to a terrible start, and became enemies. During one of their battles, Gore threw a massive ninja star through a wall and the building collapsed, but Gore saved Leo, so they became friends. Both joined the outcast clan The Strikers. Name: Leo Weapon: Executioner's sword Powers: Lightning Story: A ninja that is without a path is a ninja without a purpose. These are the words that Leo lives by. Banished from his clan for being born with the power of lightning, he traveled the world in search of a new clan. While on that journey, Leo met the powerful Summoner, Gore. They met on the wrong foot though and for a while they were enemies. Then Gore saved Leo’s life and they became rivals. Then they met the Strikers, a clan of outsiders that rival the Force clan. Now Leo is a retired member of the Strikers, but he will always align with them if needed. Today I went to the verizon program. The verizon program is all about coding and showing young men that they are meant for more. Today when i got to Harris-Stowe, I saw a lot of the people from the camp last summer. In class we did code.org, which is a website with different ways to learn to code. I had most of the activity done before they actually started to explain how to to it, so my and my friend got different work. We also did scratch, another coding site geared towards kids. We excelled at that too. Check it out:https://code.org/learn, https://scratch.mit.edu/
Hello, and welcome back to Sincerely Speaking. It’s my BIRTHDAY MONTH!!!!!!! I'm going to be turning 14 this year. One more year until I can get my drivers permit. This year I am going to have an escape the room party. Escape the room is a literal room that you have to find clues to escape the room. I thought I would be fun to get scared a little. Im hoping for a big load out in the presents department. I want this online studio called FL studio. Its an official studio that the pros use. It has all these cool trap effects and audio that I can't wait to experiment with. Well, that's all folks I am a Captain of Young Men Of Vision which is a nationally ranked step team. We step, mentor, and guide black males to success. This year we are selling TJ’s pizza to buy our uniforms. This email is to see if you would like to support me in getting my uniform. The form is below. Please email me at [email protected] with your orders If you would like to find out more, or support YMOV, or the high school team, Gentelmen of Vision, then click on the link http://americangraduate.ninenet.org/gov/ Thank you for the support, Sincere
Hello there,
Recently my parents and I went down to the graffiti wall for Paint Louis. Paint Louis is the gathering of a lot of graffiti artist. Even artist from other states and other countries came to participate. I tagged the Scrap Cans for Kids wall, which is a little mock wall for kids to try out graffiti. I did it last year, so I put some thought into my tag. After that we walked the wall and saw some awesome graffiti art. I had a lot of fun, and I even bought a piece. I saw so much inspiration I am now drawing graffiti. I talked with some of the artist and they all told me the same thing, to keep up my drawing, do daily sketches and practice. Well that's all, so I’ll see u next time on Sincerely Speaking Venture Cafe is a place to innovate and create ideas. My father and I just went there to listen to Jared Arms, the entrepreneur who created Kyler.io. He is a programer just like me. His website, Kylar.io, is what he wants to be the next google classroom. I was there to get some insight on how he got to be who he is today. He wants to help kids in our community make apps and right now he is working to help people with health problems get information and tips. Jared invited me to talk a little about my experiences at Venture Cafe. The whole place is like a giant Makerspace. I was in awe with all the cool tech there. There were massive computers with multiple screens, and big TV’s. I would love to work in a place like that. I talked about my coding experiences with programs like Scratch, Game Salad, and Javascript. I also talked about my website and my Makerspace class at school. I was able to express myself, even though I was nervous being the youngest person in the room. So what I would take away from this experience? "Being in that room made it clear to me that I can be great just by expressing myself." Well that's all for now, but I will be back. Sincere here, straight out of YMOV a crazy dope team with precision! The Family Of Vision (FOV) just got off with a bang in the 2016 step season. I’m very happy to tell you that we have won our first show. This year, we have had two performances and one competition. We have so many new teammates this year, I am excited to see how we perform on stage. Practice has been very intense. We’ve been taking every opportunity to tune our show, even on weekends. We have been working hard to get ready for national competitions. Our first performance was at the Sigma Gamma Rho Inc Central Regional Conference. This was the first time that most of the team performed on stage together, so I was nervous that we would not perform as well as we wanted. We did better than I thought we would! All the Sigma Gamma Rho’s yelled and screamed. This year, the UMSL step show hosted by the Associated Black Collegians, turned out to be a showcase for all the step teams in St. Louis. We went and went hard. To tell the truth, we almost broke the stage. The Infinity Step Team hosted the first competition of the season, which showcased teams from MO and IL The Family of Vision was out in full force and I was anxious to see how we would respond to the pressure. Lots of other teams stepped also, including Girl's Inc, Platinum-Elite, The Kappa League (IL), and Parkway South. Of course the FOV was planning for a sweep. We huddled up as we wait for the announcement of the winners. “And in first place........... YMOV!!”We cheered. And cheered some more when they called Gov for the high School division. One of my hopes for this step season is that every show is a ‘W’. For me one of my goals is to get better at doing the movements on time. A team goal is to work on our precision on stage. The judges get us on our precision every time. Last year when we were in Pennsylvania, we got second because of precision. Another goal is keeping our energy up. We want to look like we came in when we come out. Powerful stomps, sharp blades, precise movements. All of that is our focus. If you want to see our show, here is a list of upcoming performances:
I’ll give more updates as we get more info. Hey, I’m back. Its been a long time since my last post, and since school is about to start I'm going to do a couple. These last couple of weeks I’ve been living the life and living it good. Today, I’m going to share my goals for school, home and a few other things that are important to me.
This year I will be going to a new school, Grand Center Arts Academy (GCAA). This school is perfect for me since I want to be an artist/innovator. They have great teachers that specialize in the arts and they have a huge maker space. I also want to meet more people like me and make new friends, but that is usually not a big problem. Finally, I want to participate more in activities that are cool like drama and vocal arts. I’m also going to start helping around the house more and take care of my belongings better. A little, sweeping, vacuuming and cleaning my bathroom should be a good place to start. I sometimes lose things and I don't find them until I clean in that area. I also want to have a more active and healthier life. I’m going to start working out and eating better. I'm going to reach these goals by working out three times a week and eating more fruits and vegetables. Hopefully, this will help me develop my skills. There are plenty of other things going on as well. Becoming a better gamer is also a goal. Games are an important part of my life, so I have to get better at playing them. As you know I step with Young Men of Vision (YMOV). This year, I want to take my stepping to the next level. I no longer will be mediocre. Also, my parents are starting a new site called Betakids.club for kids who like to do amazing things. I will work for them as a Technology Innovation Specialist and freelance reporter. Well now you know a little about my goals, tell me a little bit about your goals. I’ll see you next time on Sincerely Speaking. |
