Hey, hey, hey I’m back from a long break. Several holidays have passed since my last post. I’m going to tell you about the festivities and wonderful things that happened over the last few months. Thanksgiving and Christmas were filled with family, fun, and surprises. There was lots of delicious food, entertaining games and an awesome trip. Let’s start with Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving was really fun. I went to Traci and my Grandfathers house to celebrate. I had lots of fun playing video games and board games with my cousins Tyler and Harold. Then, I stuffed my face with ham, pie, and sweet potatoes with marshmallows. When I got done, I couldn't even get up. I also played chess with my Grandfather. I beat him a couple of times, but I couldn't beat my dad. Christmas was a different story. My parents woke me up at 5:00 to take me to the airport.. I had no sense of direction since I was half sleep. They woke me and said “We're going to Florida. I didn't belive them until we got on the plane. When we got of the plane in Florida, I got to see palm trees that looked like there were bananas hanging from it. When my Aunt Kai picked us up from the airport, she took us to their house I saw my little cousins Aislyn, London, J.T. and I saw my Uncle James. They were fun to hang out with. We played Beat the Parents, Headband and Connect Four and even made our own Harlem Shake remix. On Christmas day, I woke up at 4:00 and then waited until 7:30 to wake up the adults. My favorite gifts were three Naruto Shippuden games and Spider-man Shattered Dimensions. We went to Universal City walk, which is a outdoor mall. We also went to the beach even though it was cold and windy. I had a great time in Florida. It was the best present ever :) Well that sums this blog post up. I’ll see you next time on Sincerely Speaking
Yo Yo Yo, I'm back. I've been doing lots of things. Here they are. I made an animated short at camp using a program called Toon Boom Studio 6.0. I did the voice over for the the animation and I was awesome. My team helped me learn the song and I had a great time working with them. Our projects main character was Barack Obama. We think that we won the competition but, they haven’t told us who won. When I’m not animating, I’m hanging out with my friends, Antonio, David, Josh Clayton, and Jordan. My friends like me as a friend. We make and throw paper airplanes outside. I also went to Babbler State Park and played in a lake and went on a nature walk. It was awesome because we saw lots of animals, I even caught a Water Strider . I liked playing and getting wet in the lake. I've been doing things at home also. I've been earning badges. I earned the Maker badge for creating things on DIY.org. Check out my profile. On Digital Passport I earned Twalker for learning not to talk and walk,Share Jumper for learning how and what to share and email, E-volve learning how to deal with cyber-bullies,and the Mix-N-Mash badge for learning how to give credit. I also have scored 92 in Xtramath. Xtramath is a program for kids the helps with adding subtracting multiplying and division. I am close to finishing multiplication. The Orioles, my old baseball team, called me out of retirement. I played baseball with them last year. I had fun at the games because the Orioles won. I really have been busy this week! Well I’ll see you next time on Sincerely Speaking.
Hi the school year has ended and the battle in the heat has begun.Last week I started camp at the Youth Learning Center (YLC). It is a fun camp to learn about technology. I even learned how to use Toon Boom Studio. I also went to the Lego Store for a mini build. They showed us how to make a fisherman with a fish to go with it. I also completed a Lego Ninjago set. It was the Stone Army's Warrior Bike. I also helped my Dad do some yard work and add curb appeal to our house. Camp has been awesome. We do math, gym, and animation. In math we are allowed to play on iPads. I played this game called Math Ninja. You have to defeat all the robots and defeat the evil tomato ( I know what you’re thinking “A tomato as a boss battle.” I said the same thing). In gym we do our stretches first. Next we to “ Care Bear Runs” ( aka ‘suicides ). Then we play games like basketball. I liked kickball because our teacher, Mr. James lets us bunt or “baby kick”. In animation we are creating a animated short with famous americans using Toon Boom Studio. My group has chosen President Obama. We also chose a president rap from flocabulary. When I went to the Lego Store I created a mini build of a fisher man. It was a long wait but it was worth the wait. I can use that and get points for the Nerds( The dominat race). I also finish a Lego Ninjago set. The Stone army’s Warrior Bike took a good amount of time. I am going to get points for that also. I AM AWESOME. Lastly, I helped my Dad do some yard work. We went to Home Depot to get some bricks. We got 30 bricks to put outside. I put them on the cart, I took them off the cart put them in the trunk, took them out of the trunk gave them to my Dad and he put them around the tree. It looked good. Due to my calculations work+effort= play. Well thats all folks. I’ll see you next time on Sincerely Speaking. This is my super glider. Awesome right. Hi everybody. I just completed my first project on DIY.org. I made a super glider airplane. It was awesome. I took a picture for every step, so I can post a tutorial later on. Check out my page on DIY.org and leave me a comment. Also, this weekend my little cousins came over and we played all night. Then, the next day we went to a birthday party at the Zoo. We had a lot of fun. Afterwards, I went with my aunts, Greer and Glynis, to watch my cousin Madison's dance competition. The dances were great, but some of the costumes had no color and were dull. Madison's dance was awesome and she received two awards. Well I'll see you next time on Sincerely Speaking. Yo, I'm back. I just completed a Mozilla Thimble project. I learned a little bit of coding, and earned some badges. I learned enough to make my Avatar-o-Matic project, which I call " The Black Warrior". Last Saturday, I went to the Youth Game Jam at the Youth Learning Center, where we created video games. First we did an ice breaker to get to know each other and enter in a raffle to get the V.I.P. station. I was the programmer on my team and also the team captain. I used Gamestar Mechanic and Scratch, a programming language created at MIT. Our game was about a man who fell off a cruise ship, found a surf board and then surfed his way through the water to the cruise ship. My favorite part is while the credits roll, the whole family does the Harlem Shake. It was hilarious. Earn skills. Become a Maker! My dad and I are jumping into the Maker movement with this new site DIY.org. Check it out and get some badges! Check us out here: Shadow (me) SOiTech (dad)
Now for a joke: You are in a room with no doors or windows, but there is a saw and a table. How do you get out of the room? Give your answers in the comments. Hey I’m back with my week. This week I went to a lot of places and i’m going to tell you all a about it. First off, let me tell you about baseball. We had a swim party at January Wabash for all of the baseball teams in our league. My Teammates Jalyen and Aaron Williams raced each other down the slides with me. Then Jalyen, Aaron, and I took turns jumping off the diving board. Afterwards everyone got together to play volleyball, marco polo, who can do the best trick in the water. We even played who can make the biggest splash. Then Lorenzo, the League Commissioner gave us our Championship T-shirts. When he called our team, the Orioles, we all jumped and screamed “YES!!!!” We had so much fun I just dreamed I was doing it again! I also went to Brunswick Zone with my Granddad and Traci. They have everything a kid could want. They even had Lazer tag. Of course my team won. I even got Traci and Grandad to play. It was cool. They even had bowling. I’ll do that next time I go. Then they took me to see The Dark Knight Rises. I loved that movie. They even put Catwoman in the movie to make it more of a mysterious kind of movie. THAT MOVIE WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! Now, let me tell you about Apple Movie camp. My Dad took me to the Apple Store in the Galleria, where they had Apple movie camp. In Apple Movie camp you get to learn how to make trailers and movies using iMovie and Garageband. First, I had to think about what kind of movie or trailer I wanted to do, then I created a storyboard. Next, I went home and shot my movie. The movie was called Electro V.S. Luke cage. Instead of shooting the whole thing at once, I shot my movie scene by scene. I even colored my own background. Then, the next day at camp you learned to edit your movie or create a trailer on iMovie. We also made music in Garageband. The counselors put your movie on a USB bracelet and you get to take yours home. We also got badges and certificates. Click below to see the trailer. Me cre8-ing with Ms. Hopkins @Girls' Inc I’m back with my week. This week my Dad and I went to teach a class at Girls’ Inc with Ms. Theresa Hopkins. It was a blast. My Dad showed the class a website called Graffiti Creator. We created cool graffiti with our names on the screen. Then Ms. Hopkins took over the class. Ms. Hopkins showed the class a dumpster that she stenciled and graffitied in a parking lot for Urban Beautification Project. Then we went outside and graffitied the sidewalk with stencils for Girls’ Inc. Then we helped the girls create their own stencil art. This week I also went to Vacation Bible School at Christ the King! I had a great with Jordan and Morgan and some other kids from the community they invited. We learned about Paul and Silas, and their adventures as fishers of men. They went to five places, and preached to non-believers about God. In one place Paul and Silas were in jail. A earthquake popped their chains and their cell doors opened. The guards were asleep on the job and we're going to kill themselves when Paul said don’t harm yourselves. I learned that sometimes we should just pray and sing to God. My teacher was Mrs. Hurt, and she rocks. We had a race to see who can get the most stars on Friday, and I won because I answered the most questions. My Uncle Alan mailed me a tee shirt that said ‘The art of video games. I’m a gamer so I love it! He lives all the way in D.C. near the White House! He is a producer, a play writer, and he’s a movie producer. He is my favorite uncle. Well I’ll see you next time on Sincerely Speaking! I’m back and I have news for you! I was at the mall with my Mom where we met her friend, Mr. Don Holt, and he told me in 10 to 15 years from now I may be meeting Bill Gates! Mr.Holt said to learn more math, science and tech and he’ll hire me! Sometimes encouragement comes when you are thinking ”Not one thing is going to happen today.” Then I talked to his daughter, Ms. Kathleen Holt-Whyte about her company Success Strategies. She said if I continue to work hard she might let me help teach a class of adults to speak correctly. Afterwards my parents and I went to Dough To Door cookie shop. My Mom didn’t come the last time we went. I told the owner that I blogged about him and he gave me a free M n’ M cookie. Then I played BINGO and Connect Four with my Dad. While we were playing I BEAT MY DAD!! :) Then I kept on beating him. Well Thats all folks. I’ll see you next time on Sincerely Speaking!! Hi Im back, and I had a blast this week. Let me tell you about the things I did. First of all lets talk about the Chess Club. My Dad and I visited the The Chess Club and Scholarship Center of St. Louis after church on Sunday. They have tournaments and kids lessons. My Dad takes me on some Sundays and I get to play against kids my age. Then my Dad took me to the movies to see Men in Black 3! It was so funny I didn’t stop laughing until the end of the movie. I liked the part when Agent J found K and was then tased and left unconscious. Dwayne, Sincere, Kayla, Noah. My friends and I made a lemonade stand called Kids On The Block! We made a good team. I was over the money, Kala, made the lemonade ,Noah flagged the cars saying, “LEMONLADE AND WATER! LEMONLADE AND WATER!”, and Dwayne tasted the lemonade. @The Muny with my Auntie Cheryl. I also saw the Amazing Spider Man. It was tight. They had all new characters but they told a different story than the other 3 Spider man movies. Spiderman has to save the world from the Lizard: Half man, Half lizard. Dr.Conners lost his arm and to get it back he used lizard DNA and everything went wrong and he became the lizard. Then my Auntie took me to the Muny to see Aladdin. I liked the genie. He made the show hilarious! He said, “Hold on! Hold on OMG HOLD ON.” We made it to the intermission, then it started to rain. |
